Cookbooks and T-shirts

After posting the video yesterday on the blog we have gotten so many encouraging responses, messages, and comments. A lot of people are asking how they can help. It's amazing to see how God is stirring the hearts of our generation toward orphan care. We are so encouraged by what He is doing, how He uses community to move people toward things. There is no doubt to us He cares for orphans and is moving people to take action.

God has provided beyond what we could ever imagine along the way in this process financially, emotionally, and physically. Even though it's not without its heartaches, hard work, and sacrifices we are finding ourselves beyond grateful to get to experience Jesus in this way.

So a few ways you can get involved or help:

Please pray for our son (yes it is a boy! more on him to come:) He is miles away from us, and everything in me wants to hold him and whisper love over him. It's going to be a long road of waiting.

We do have cookbooks and T-shirts for sale on our blog that we wanted to let people know about. They are on the right side bar with a paypal button.

The cookbooks are a collection of all of our family and friend's favorite go-to recipes their families love and enjoy. It is such a great cookbook with over 250 recipes! I'm so happy to have all of my favorites in one place, I think I've used it every week since we had it printed.

Ubuntu is an african philosophy we have discovered along our journey. This way of thinking recognizes that one child's life and success is dependent upon a group of people. It's emphasis is on a sense of community over individualism. We have gotten to experience this philosophy first hand by people coming along side this vision to give an orphan a home and helping us in lots of ways. We are doing something together that Adam and I couldn't have done alone.

The T-shirts were custom designed by my (Val) brother Josh and are a really nice light weight polyester/cotton blend.
